inside this building here is where the two women died.and one male was injured. victoga jerlwey store. other employees and customers in the jewlery mart building were evacuated across the street to the concourse exhibition center. several streets in the area are closed. so this investigation and crime scene are having an impact on the evening commute. >> pam: the evening commute, and another reporter live john can you hear us? >> reporter: yes. we are here live. at seventh and at a very active homicide

investigation, a double homicide. earlier this afternoon around 2:00 p.m. when shots were fired. shortly after that, a call came to police with our kron 4:that is an emergency call when the officer needs help is referred to as a she said that she heard multiple shots. the police got on the scene with rifles and drawn and you can see the san francisco police department. the tactical risk bresponse units. they have this completely quarantined off. as we have mentioned, a very scn say is that eight street is going to be closed, indefinitely as they continue to investigate this scene. just a few moments ago san francisco police chief spoke with us and here

lifted but it is still a very active crime scene. one witness was returning after the shooting occurred. he was speaking to his wife on the phone who also works close to the shooting and he shared his story with kron 4. >> my wife was telling me that the people that work over at that store were shot. and the girl who shocke who also--worked there was also shot. >> this and jewelry mart was a chaotic scene and it is still difficult. catherineone witness was returning to his store near the scene,the scene shortly after the chaotic one. >> catherine: there was a lot of chaotic scene. at the scene.in the minutes after the shooting. fear and confusion around the jewelry mart. but once police were on the out.

to bring you developing news. now,only on four tonight. new information in the case of kidnapped oakland todder, daphne webb. kron4 has uncovered new details about the childs parents. the mother was arrested in february of this year. after being found passed out drunk in her car, with daphne in the back. >> reporter: neighbors say that they have not seen the child's mother in weeks. according to court documents, there was a restraining order against the mother of mandating that she cannot, with and a 100 yds of the 21 month old. the documents reveal that it is all because in the month of february, the mother, as her state was truly behind

the wheel and passed out behind the wheel. she admitted to taking vikings in and alcohol before driving. she was sentenced to drug counseling and parenting classes. the father was are arrested on wednesday for child endangerment. leaving the child alone in the car and they say that she was kidnapped while he was in the store. ever since, there has been a massive search. charges, and took parenting classes. day after the arrest of the father. he had been previously endangerment. but thos charges have been dropped. daphne was stolen from his car, while he ran into a store. the child was left with a grandmother, who suffers from dimentia. oakland at the policeshe has more on the search >> reporter: your thoughts is that issue was reported missing? >> it is sad. >> reporter: why do you say that? >> the child's father was

one of man has been hospitalized and there was a knife found in addition to a gun. there is one suspect in custody. and apparently they were shooting at police before he ran out of ammunition and surrendered. the suspect is at san francisco general. this is a very active scene. with traffic being impacted. and of course, the police are going through to make sure that there is not a potential suspect. and to evacuate employees and customers. it is a large building and area stores. . and we are all waiting that press conference and in the meantime we are going to check-in with catherine. >> catherine: yes. a

developing story. we're on verdict watch in the second degree murder trial of george zimmerman. the case today. they've wrapped up for the day -- and will go back into deliberations saturday. the options they're facing -- 2nd degree murder.manslaughter.or not guilty. the key question -- was it self-defense when zimmerman shot and killed trayvon martin last year? february of last year. a confrontation between neighborhood watch volunteer george zimmerman and 17-year-old trayvon martin ends - when the unarmed teenager is shot and killed. zimmerman says it was self- defense.saying the teenager attacked him. prosecutors say it's second degree murder.and the teenager was racially profiled. both sides had a final chance to persuade the jury. >> saying that this is not 2nd degree murder if there's even a little reasonable doubt. >> catherine: in

& bath and a nordstrom's and a tech company. the chief give us an update, earlier. where he indicated that there is one suspect in custody. they were looking at the possibility of a second shooter. >> there was a gunman, with a single suspect entered and store #147. and he shot one man. and there were two female victims as well. we believe that there were gunshots and those two women are deceased. the suspect exited. and he went east bound at this area where he was impeached by three different police officers. and he produced a revolver. he fired upon the officers and retreated into a

restaurant. additional officers came on the scene. more rounds were fired. none of the rounds hit the officers. prior for the officers to return fire, he discarded his revolvers and he surrendered. he suffered a superficial wounds on his hand and taken to the hospital. as well as the male victim to the stork is now in critical/stable condition at a hospital. the male victim was taken to the -- hospital. have and the man-also from the jewelry store it is also in critical stable condition. everybody else has been methodically processed through this all across the street. and i would like to thin -that everybody healthy and to thank...

every law enforcement. the call 406 went out with the critical incident and the first responders. health and even the red cross provided some help with bottled water, snacks we really, really appreciate it. it was a horrific event. we will move forward. we do not know the motive for this crime. i do not know what the suspect had in his possession at the time of but it would not have been something... however, we will be able to interview the male victim and he will be able to tell us the story. this is a gold store. >> with the exchange fire? >> there was no officers that fired. there was no return of gunfire.

>> a russian immigrant has been charged with murder in the beating death of an elderly man in antioch. u-s marshals assisted in the arrest of the suspect in washington state earlier this week. the suspect had been wanted in connection with the murder that happened on the 44-hundred block of horseshoe circle on june 11th. police say the suspect was doing yard work for the victim. and living with him at the time of the murder. they say, the suspect used a vase to beat the victim to death. investigators have not yet determined a motive for the killing. >> pam: vallejo police have released photos and a description of the clothing on a body found buried in vallejo. these are the photos of the clothing.the t-shirt is an unknown color at this time. the body was found around seven p-m on july fifth. west of derr street near lemon street the cause of death is unknown and police say the case is being investigated as a possible homicide. the age, race and gender of the victim are unknown.
